The Let’s Dance campaign, founded by Angela Rippon, launched nationally on Sunday, 2nd March 2025, aiming to highlight the many physical and mental health benefits of dance. The initiative encourages people of all ages and abilities to get moving—whether they’re experienced dancers or stepping onto the dance floor for the first time.
Locally, Michele’s Dance Club in Cheshunt hosted a Let’s Dance Tea Dance, bringing together over 50 attendees and raising an impressive £400 for Isabel Hospice. The event saw families, friends, and dance enthusiasts come together to enjoy an afternoon of movement and music. Michele Maguire, Founder and Principal, shared her enthusiasm:
“It was wonderful to see so many people come along and dance. We had three generations of the same family get involved!”
Beyond in-person events, the Let’s Dance campaign has also embraced digital opportunities, ensuring that everyone can take part. BEEE Creative marked a significant milestone on Monday, 3rd March, celebrating four years of their popular Wake Up and Dance sessions. These free 10-minute morning dance sessions have contributed to an incredible 158 hours of dancing and welcomed 14,666 participants since their inception.
Reflecting on this achievement, BEEE Creative shared:
“Thank you to our wonderful Wake Up and Dance community, who continue to brighten our weekday mornings and celebrate the benefits of dance to start our day!”
With a variety of free and accessible dance opportunities, the Let’s Dance campaign is making it easier than ever for people to enjoy the benefits of movement. Whether you prefer to join an in-person event or take part from home, there’s a way for everyone to get involved.
